Description:
The Stephen B. Harris Mid-Career Scientist Award recognizes a scientist who has demonstrated outstanding contributions to reproductive and developmental toxicology during the mid-stage of their professional career. The award honors individuals whose accomplishments reflect sustained scientific excellence, innovation, leadership, mentorship, and meaningful contributions to research, education, regulatory science, and professional service.
Named in honor of Stephen B. Harris, this award celebrates individuals whose work has significantly advanced the field while serving as a model for scientific leadership and professional engagement.
Eligibility:
- Full or Associate member of the RDTSS for outstanding research and scientific contribution completed since graduate and/or postdoctoral training.
- At least 10, and no more than 20, years from the date of their last formal training.
- The criteria for the award are originality, discovery, and excellence in the field of Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology as evidenced by peer-reviewed manuscripts in journals of high caliber, teaching experience, mentorship, leadership, contributions to regulatory DART practice/guidelines, and/or other commensurate evidence of expertise in the field. Individuals working in academia, government, and industry will be equally eligible to compete for this award.

- The RDTSS awards committee will consider the impact of the individual contributions based on publications, teaching experience, leadership, mentorship, and enthusiasm/engagement in issues of significance to the field of Reproductive and Developmental Toxicology.
The awardee will be selected from membership nominations by a committee formed by the RDTSS Executive Committee and include a representative from the award sponsor.
