Calling all postdoctoral trainees who are 1) a member of NTSS (or show evidence of application), 2) attending SOT in San Antonio in 2027, 3) have a scientific abstract accepted by SOT, and 4) like getting awards!
The NTSS Poster Competition will be held Monday, March 15, from 4:30 to 5:30 PM in the Convention Center at the 2027 Annual SOT Conference. This is a great opportunity to present your work and network with many neurotoxicologists.
Description: Best Poster Competition (In-person competition occurring at SOT). This will be awarded based on an abstract, letter of support, and oral presentation of the poster at SOT.
Eligibility Requirements:
Postdoctoral Scholars: The scholar/associate must be a postdoctoral member of SOT and NTSS (or show evidence of application) and meet the SOT criteria for classification as a postdoctoral scholar/associate at the time of the Annual Meeting.
Postdoctoral associates giving platform presentations at the Annual Meeting are also eligible if they prepare a poster summarizing their talk. Advisors or mentors who are not members are strongly encouraged to join NTSS.
Awardee Receives: In addition to recognition certificates for each winner, monetary prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place. This award is made possible by the Toshio Narahashi Neurotoxicology Fellowship Award Fund of the SOT Endowment.
Submission Requirements
- Provide the following information:
- Your name
- Your preferred email address to receive communications
- Your department
- Your institution
- Your advisor’s name and email address
- Confirmation that you will be attending and presenting at the 2027 SOT conference. Confirmation that you are a member of NTSS, or that you have applied to be a member. (provide evidence of application as an additional page if needed).
- An extended abstract. The extended abstract should consist of the accepted abstract originally submitted to SOT and following SOT guidelines and up to a single page of key figures or data with figure legends. You may add additional text to the abstract in the form of a 2-4 sentence description of the impact of the research and a 2-4 sentence conclusion.
- Letter of support from the scholar/associate's advisor outlining their independence and their specific role in the research by Jan 20, 2027. Please submit this to SOT Apply.
- Present your poster at the special NTSS poster competition session. The session will be on Monday March 15, from 4:30-5:30. Posters should be completed in line with SOT poster guidelines.
