MRC/SOT Young Investigator Award

Description:

This award is presented at the MRC/SOT Spring meeting to the Midwest region-affiliated applicant who submits the best undergraduate or graduate research proposal. Each complete application must include the following:

  • Research Proposal
    • The research proposal must clearly describe the project's relevance to toxicology and include the following sections: (1) rationale, (2) hypothesis, (3) specific aims, and (4) summary of methods. The proposal is limited to 2 pages, single-spaced, with 1-inch margins and a minimum of 11-point font size, excluding references.
  • Curriculum Vitae or Resume
    • Submit a CV or resume, limited to 2 pages, that includes publications, oral and poster presentations, honors, awards, and recognitions.
  • Recommendation Letter
    • One recommendation letter, limited to 2 pages, must be submitted separately by the applicant's research advisor or thesis/dissertation advisor. 

The research proposal and CV must be uploaded as a combined single PDF file. Recommendation letters should not be included in the application package.

Winners will present their research at the following Annual (spring) Meeting of MRC/SOT and will receive funds to be used for continuing education in toxicology (e.g., travel to national or regional meeting and/or purchase of textbook(s), participation in workshops and/or applied towards their proposed research project).
