Description

This award will be presented to postdoctoral trainees and junior independent scientists in academia, industry, or regulatory entities. The nominees must have up to 10 years of experience since obtaining their highest degree. Exceptions to the 10-year limitation can be made if careers have been interrupted for family or health reasons, or clinical practice, etc. Reasons for the exception should be documented in the nomination letter.

Self-nominations will not be considered. Nominees need to be SOT and ITSS members for full consideration (pending applications are also accepted). Nominators are required to document the contributions of the candidate and provide a CV and bibliography. The depth, breadth and significance of the scientific contributions of the nominee to advancing the field of Immunotoxicology should be addressed, as well as service to the Immunotoxicology community.

Final decisions will be made by the ITSS President, last three ITSS Past Presidents, the ITSS Vice President, and ITSS Vice President-Elect (Chaired by the Vice President). An engraved plaque and cash award will be presented to the recipient of this award.

Nominations of candidates who did not receive the award will be considered for two additional years unless the candidate is no longer eligible, or the nomination is withdrawn by the sponsor. Recipients of this award may not receive the award more than once.
