The Inhalation and Respiratory Specialty Section is pleased to offer a special $500 award for the 2026 Annual Meeting. 

This award is open to all SOT members regardless of IRSS membership and will be given to a graduate student or postdoctoral researcher evaluating the effects of inhaled toxicants on respiratory cells using an in vitro or ex vivo approach.

  • Applicants should submit a one-page summary describing the purpose, approach, key results, and presumed impact of their findings as they relate to the topic of the award. 
  • A letter of support highlighting the candidate is also required from their mentor.

Application Deadline: December 1, 2026

Please compile application materials into a SINGLE PDF document (except for the letter of support) prior to upload. Applications submitted as multiple files or editable formats are considered incomplete until a SINGLE consolidated PDF is received. Letter of support will be uploaded separately via SOT Apply.
