The Society of Toxicology recognizes nonmembers who embody outstanding and sustained achievements in the field of toxicology and/or allied disciplines, with the Honorary Membership. Candidates are nominated by two Full or Associate members of the Society. Seconding letters with information regarding career achievements in toxicology as well as the CV of the candidate should accompany the nomination.
Nominations for Honorary Membership are first reviewed by the Nominating Committee for Honorary Members which makes Honorary Membership recommendations to the SOT Council. A two-thirds vote of SOT Council determines recipients, with not more than two Honorary Members elected during any one term of Council. Nominations should be submitted by October 9 in the year preceding the Annual Meeting at which Honorary Membership will be bestowed.
