Description:
Eligibility: Any graduate student or postdoctoral scholar whose abstract has been accepted by SOT for a presentation at the upcoming Annual Meeting and who is a member of SOT may apply.
This award is made possible by the Andersen-Clewell Award Fund of the SOT Endowment. This award is given jointly by the Risk Assessment Specialty Section (RASS) and the Biological Modeling Specialty Section (BMSS). The Award Recipient will be selected based on the scientific quality of the abstract, the scientific quality and significance of the research project overall, the significance of the findings, and a demonstration of excellence in health risk assessment. Applicants will be considered for all BMSS awards for which graduate students or postdoctoral scholars are eligible. The awardee will receive an achievement plaque and a $1,500 check.
Application:
- A copy of the research abstract submitted to SOT relating to the application of biological modeling to risk assessment.
- A brief synopsis of the project (3–5 pages) indicating the relevance of applying the biological modeling to risk assessment.
- A letter of support from the applicant’s major advisor.
